Battle of Valcour Bay

Commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Valcour Bay on Lake Champlain with the Museum. Join us for a day of free hands-on activities, a dramatic account of the events during the Battle of Valcour Bay, kids’ games, documentary screening, tours of our new exhibit Fragments: Voices of the American Revolution on Lake Champlain, and more! There will also be activities hosted by Bixby Memorial Free Library, Ethan Allen Homestead, Chittenden County Historical Society, and Vermont Folklife.

- 10:30 AM: Battle of Valcour Bay account with Executive Director Chris Sabick
- 11:00 AM: Panel with exhibit and research team members for the museum’s new exhibit Fragments: Voices of the American Revolution on Lake Champlain

Battle of Valcour Bay programs and activities are free to attend for all ages, no registration required. Food will be available for purchase from La Chapina Guatemalan Cuisine in collaboration with Viva El Sabor.

- Clip description: The overture to the series, this clip explores the places, communities, and ideals that inspired the union of the American colonies and were subsequently impacted by the conflict. Historians reflect on the Revolutionary War as a moment of origin and unity behind a “common cause.”
