Group tours and talks range from 30 to 90 minutes and can be accommodated to suit your group’s schedule and interests within our areas of expertise. Group tours must be booked and confirmed in advance of your group’s visit to the Museum. Pricing for group tours is dependent on your group size, program selection, and program length. Our team will work with you to build the best program for your group.

Group Rowing Tours

As part of the Museum’s Champlain Longboats program, we offer custom-planned rowing tours or team building exercises for groups from June–September featuring our experienced open-water rowing staff and fleet of traditional wooden rowing gigs.

Shipwreck Tours

From July to September, we offer weekly Shipwreck Tours for the public to join. This scenic boat tour visits the sites of shipwrecks in Lake Champlain and uses underwater remotely operated vehicles to explore these sites without getting wet! Lake History Cruise in Burlington, VT with Whistling Man Schooner Co.

Join staff from Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, in partnership with Whistling Man Schooner Company, for an expert-led tour aboard Whistling Man’s vessel, Friend Ship, out of the Burlington Waterfront on the fascinating history of Lake Champlain. From hundreds of shipwrecks to historic naval battles, prohibition smugglers to modern day nautical archaeology discoveries, it’s an unforgettable experience! Tours depart from Whistling Man in Burlington, VT every other Monday.

Onsite Group Directions & Parking

Lake Champlain Maritime Museum is located conveniently across the street from Basin Harbor resort and a 10-minute drive away from the restaurants and shops of downtown Vergennes. The Museum’s parking lot can fit one standard-sized tour bus. Other amenities for groups include the Museum Store with local gifts, accessible restrooms, and large outdoor spaces with picnic tables.
