One of the cornerstones of the LCMM's mission is to study Lake Champlain's extraordinary collection of historic shipwrecks and present that information to the public. We share our research on the 375 shipwrecks in Lake Champlain and share stories revealed by countless cultural resources. As part of the Vermont Underwater Historic Preserves, we proudly steward ten shipwrecks open to the public.

Based on actual shipwrecks, LCMM's archaeological studies have led to the working replica boats including Philadelphia II and Lois McClure.

Come explore the rich history of the Lake Champlain basin.
