Exit Through the Gift Shop: Local Ornaments, Jewelry, and Gifts for All

When you visit Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, one of the first and last spaces you see is the Museum Store. It’s a great stop to get snacks and to chat with staff for tips on what to see and do at the Museum each day.

It’s also a curated collection of local handmade items, ornaments, and clothing that make great gifts for everyone in your family. Before the Museum Store closes for the season on October 15, stop in and shop local for all your gifting needs this fall and winter!

Here’s a quick highlight of some local vendors and items we feature in the store:

Maple Landmark

Family-owned and based in Middlebury, Maple Landmark has been making beautiful locally-sourced wood products since 1979. Featured items in the store include custom Museum ornaments, cutting boards, tops, magnets, trivets, and a special Museum yo-yo.

Silver Forest Jewelry

Based out of Bellows Falls, Silver Forest is a much-loved local line of jewelry that we’re proud to sell onsite. For the Maritime Museum, they feature lake and water-inspired earrings as well as other nature-inspired designs to appeal to lots of different styles.

Mitchell’s Tees

This growing textile printing shop in Pittsford has done amazing custom work for the museum to bring our museum collections, shipwreck research, lake designs, and more to life in clothing and hats!

Big Picture Farms

A goat farm in Townsend might not be your first guess to find in a museum store, but this Animal Welfare-approved farm is one of our favorite local sweet treat providers. Their featured item in the Maritime Museum Store are their caramels in 6 different flavors– the perfect gift for that person with a sweet tooth.

The Museum Store is open every day from 10 am–4 pm until October 15.
