The Winds of Change

July 18 10:30 am – 11:30 am
Explore the Battle of Valcour Bay through the eyes of a sailor. This Museum tour explores the events of the Battle of Valcour Bay on Lake Champlain during the American Revolution with a focus on a very important but under-appreciated actor: WIND. You’ll learn the basics of sail theory and consider these events and what it was like for soldiers aboard ships during the battle from a new perspective.
This tour makes three stops on the Museum Campus: the waterfront at North Harbor, the replica gunboat Philadelphia II, and our exhibit Fragments: Voices of the American Revolution on Lake Champlain.
This tour is free to attend, no registration required. Meet in the Hoehl Family Visitor and Education Center.
