Let’s Talk Water!

Lake Champlain in autumn with a view of trees on the New York shore.

November 10, 2022 , 4:00 pm 5:30 pm

Meet the amazing women working to keep water clean in the Champlain Valley and learn what you can do to help!

As we continue to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Clean Water Act, join us on Zoom for a chance to hear about the work that goes into protecting our waterways. Meg Modley of the Lake Champlain Basin Program will discuss the impact of aquatic invasive species on the region and strategies for preventing their spread. Danielle Garneau of SUNY Plattsburgh will talk about the threat microplastics pose to water quality and how science is being used to find solutions. Kelley Tucker of the Ausable River Association will present on the ways that conservation professionals and scientists work together with communities to protect the environment. Between presentations, there will be time to ask questions, with a longer Q&A and discussion at the end of the webinar.

This presentation is made possible with generous support from the Champlain Valley National Heritage Partnership and Vermont Humanities.
