SUMMARY:Philadelphia II Open Hours
DESCRIPTION:Soldiers in the Revolutionary War not only fought on boats\, they also often lived on them for months. Step aboard the Museum’s replica of the Revolutionary War gunboat Philadelphia to explore their living and working conditions\, understand the mechanics of the vessel\, and even row the oars! Aboard the vessel\, staff will have real artifacts from Revolutionary War sites around the lake (including recent artifacts recovered by our archaeologists at Arnold’s Bay) for visitors to see\, touch\, and learn about! \n\n\n\nAccessibility: The Philadelphia II is currently on the Museum Green. There is a staircase leading up to the boat\, and the boat is in the middle of a grassy area. However\, the rigging and cannon from the Philadelphia II are nearby or on the surrounding lawn\, and our staff would be happy to talk about the vessel as well as display props on the lawn. Best suited for intermediate and experienced adult rowers of all ages (18-99+)\, this weekly club sets out for a vigorous 1.5-to-2-hour row each week and practice strength training\, rowing techniques\, and endurance. This club is a great way to exercise\, socialize\, and experience the beauty of Lake Champlain\, while improving our rowing skills \n\n\n\nHow to Register: \n\n\n\nReady to row? You must register for this club for the season to sign up for weekly rows. We have instituted a Pay-What-You-Can model this season for all our rowing. You must register for this club for the season to sign up for weekly rows. We have instituted a Pay-What-You-Can model this season for all our rowing. Rowing Club registrations pay what they feel is appropriate and affordable for them\, no matter what you pay (or if you even pay at all) you will still be registered for the entire rowing season! DESCRIPTION:Looking for something spooky and sweet to do with the family for Halloween season? Put on your costumes and come trick-or-treating at the Maritime Museum from 3 – 5 pm on Friday\, October 30! Explore the Museum grounds as you trick-or-treat at our exhibit buildings. Treats for costumed canines will also be available! This event is free to attend\, no reservations required. Lake and history-inspired costumes are always encouraged! \n\n\n\nThis event will take place across the Museum grounds\, including paved walkways\, gravel\, and grass.
