DESCRIPTION:Club Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced Rowers \n\n\n\nWeekly Schedule: Thursday Nights\, May–October \n\n\n\nMeetup Location: Meet at the Museum \n\n\n\nClub Details: \n\n\n\nThe Community Rowing club meets every Thursday evening\, weather permitting\, at the Museum campus. Open to adult rowers of all ages (18-99+) and of all levels (beginner to experienced) this weekly club sets out for a recreational 1.5-to-2-hour row each week. We row the museum’s fleet of rowing gigs\, either 6-seater pilot gigs or smaller 4-oared boats. This club is a great way to exercise\, socialize\, and experience the beauty of Lake Champlain in with a relaxed group. \n\n\n\nHow to Register: \n\n\n\nReady to row? You must register for this club for the season to sign up for weekly rows. We have instituted a Pay-What-You-Can model this season for all our rowing. Rowing Club registrations pay what they feel is appropriate and affordable for them\, no matter what you pay (or if you even pay at all) you will still be registered for the entire rowing season! DESCRIPTION:Come explore the ecology of Lake Champlain on a guided canoe paddle with the Museum! We will get a close look at the lake’s different plants and animals from a unique vantage point\, and we’ll talk about their ecosystem and the importance of their preservation. No prior canoe experience is required\, we will cover the basics during the tour! \n\n\n\nFor canoe tours\, the Museum provides  canoes\, paddles\, and personal flotation devises (PFDs). We recommend each participant brings or wear: \n\n\n\n\nClothing that is okay to get wet \n\n\n\nA bottle of water\n\n\n\nBinoculars (we will have a couple pairs to pass around\, but not enough for everyone!) \n\n\n\nA hat and sunscreen \n\n\n\n\nThis program is offered on select Wednesdays and Fridays and is weather-dependent. DESCRIPTION:Did you know there are hundreds of historic shipwrecks in Lake Champlain? Join us for a special tour and dive into this exciting underwater history\, without getting wet!   \n\n\n\nThis scenic boat tour will take you to the sites of some famous local shipwrecks as Museum experts recount their dramatic stories. Watch underwater footage of shipwrecks from the Museum’s archaeology team and underwater Remote Operated Vehicles (ROVs)\, learn about our lake’s unique geology and history\, talk with Museum experts\, and get a first-hand look at the nature and animals that call these parts of the lake home including eagles\, fish\, and more. An incredible experience for all ages!  \n\n\n\nOn the day of your tour\, gather on the Museum green at 10:00 am and proceed to the dock at Basin Harbor as a group at 10:10 to begin the tour\, which will run from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. The walk to Basin Harbor is approximately a half-mile on pavement\, and visitors are welcome to drive if needed. DESCRIPTION:Come explore the ecology of Lake Champlain on a guided canoe paddle with the Museum! We will get a close look at the lake’s different plants and animals from a unique vantage point\, and we’ll talk about their ecosystem and the importance of their preservation. No prior canoe experience is required\, we will cover the basics during the tour! \n\n\n\nFor canoe tours\, the Museum provides  canoes\, paddles\, and personal flotation devises (PFDs). We recommend each participant brings or wear: \n\n\n\n\nClothing that is okay to get wet \n\n\n\nA bottle of water\n\n\n\nBinoculars (we will have a couple pairs to pass around\, but not enough for everyone!) \n\n\n\nA hat and sunscreen \n\n\n\n\nThis program is offered on select Wednesdays and Fridays and is weather-dependent. DESCRIPTION:Bring the whole family on a two-hour program of canoeing and a beginner introduction the birds of Otter Creek with an expert Museum guide! Designed for families with kids\, you’ll learn tips on how to identify the diverse species of birds found in the Lake Champlain watershed as well as some basic canoeing skills. \n\n\n\nThis is a family-friendly program for those who are relatively or completely new to birding\, with canoeing instruction provided\, but experienced birders or paddlers are also welcome! Get the family together and enjoy a day of birding and boating at Lake Champlain Maritime Museum. \n\n\n\nBe sure to bring clothing that can get wet as well as water to stay hydrated. Watch underwater footage of shipwrecks from the Museum’s archaeology team and underwater Remote Operated Vehicles (ROVs)\, learn about our lake’s unique geology and history\, talk with Museum experts\, and get a first-hand look at the nature and animals that call these parts of the lake home including eagles\, fish\, and more. An incredible experience for all ages!  \n\n\n\nOn the day of your tour\, gather on the Museum green at 10:00 am and proceed to the dock at Basin Harbor as a group at 10:10 to begin the tour\, which will run from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. The walk to Basin Harbor is approximately a half-mile on pavement\, and visitors are welcome to drive if needed. DESCRIPTION:Club Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced Rowers \n\n\n\nWeekly Schedule: Thursday Nights\, May–October \n\n\n\nMeetup Location: Meet at the Museum \n\n\n\nClub Details: \n\n\n\nThe Community Rowing club meets every Thursday evening\, weather permitting\, at the Museum campus. Open to adult rowers of all ages (18-99+) and of all levels (beginner to experienced) this weekly club sets out for a recreational 1.5-to-2-hour row each week. We row the museum’s fleet of rowing gigs\, either 6-seater pilot gigs or smaller 4-oared boats. This club is a great way to exercise\, socialize\, and experience the beauty of Lake Champlain in with a relaxed group. \n\n\n\nHow to Register: \n\n\n\nReady to row? You must register for this club for the season to sign up for weekly rows. We have instituted a Pay-What-You-Can model this season for all our rowing. Rowing Club registrations pay what they feel is appropriate and affordable for them\, no matter what you pay (or if you even pay at all) you will still be registered for the entire rowing season!
