SUMMARY:Philadelphia II Open Hours
DESCRIPTION:Soldiers in the Revolutionary War not only fought on boats\, they also often lived on them for months. Step aboard the Museum’s replica of the Revolutionary War gunboat Philadelphia to explore their living and working conditions\, understand the mechanics of the vessel\, and even row the oars! Aboard the vessel\, staff will have real artifacts from Revolutionary War sites around the lake (including recent artifacts recovered by our archaeologists at Arnold’s Bay) for visitors to see\, touch\, and learn about! \n\n\n\nAccessibility: The Philadelphia II is currently on the Museum Green. There is a staircase leading up to the boat\, and the boat is in the middle of a grassy area. However\, the rigging and cannon from the Philadelphia II are nearby or on the surrounding lawn\, and our staff would be happy to talk about the vessel as well as display props on the lawn. DESCRIPTION:The Lake Champlain Challenge Race is a community race at Lake Champlain Maritime Museum open to all human-powered boats with a post-run lunch for all! Bring your own boat\, experience the beauty of Lake Champlain from a new angle\, and enjoy a day of community-fueled fun and competition. \n\n\n\nIndividual and team participants all set off on a fun three-mile course past the palisades\, one of the most picturesque parts of Lake Champlain\, racing to set the fastest time per category. The only requirement is participating boats must be propelled by human power\, nothing else! DESCRIPTION:Did you know there are hundreds of historic shipwrecks in Lake Champlain? Join us for a special tour and dive into this exciting underwater history\, without getting wet!   \n\n\n\nThis scenic boat tour will take you to the sites of some famous local shipwrecks as Museum experts recount their dramatic stories. Watch underwater footage of shipwrecks from the Museum’s archaeology team and underwater Remote Operated Vehicles (ROVs)\, learn about our lake’s unique geology and history\, talk with Museum experts\, and get a first-hand look at the nature and animals that call these parts of the lake home including eagles\, fish\, and more. An incredible experience for all ages!  \n\n\n\nOn the day of your tour\, gather on the Museum green at 10:00 am and proceed to the dock at Basin Harbor as a group at 10:10 to begin the tour\, which will run from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. The walk to Basin Harbor is approximately a half-mile on pavement\, and visitors are welcome to drive if needed. DESCRIPTION:Did you know there are hundreds of historic shipwrecks in Lake Champlain? Join us for a special tour and dive into this exciting underwater history\, without getting wet!   \n\n\n\nThis scenic boat tour will take you to the sites of some famous local shipwrecks as Museum experts recount their dramatic stories. Watch underwater footage of shipwrecks from the Museum’s archaeology team and underwater Remote Operated Vehicles (ROVs)\, learn about our lake’s unique geology and history\, talk with Museum experts\, and get a first-hand look at the nature and animals that call these parts of the lake home including eagles\, fish\, and more. An incredible experience for all ages!  \n\n\n\nOn the day of your tour\, gather on the Museum green at 10:00 am and proceed to the dock at Basin Harbor as a group at 10:10 to begin the tour\, which will run from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. The walk to Basin Harbor is approximately a half-mile on pavement\, and visitors are welcome to drive if needed. DESCRIPTION:Club Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced Rowers \n\n\n\nWeekly Schedule: Thursday Nights\, May–October \n\n\n\nMeetup Location: Meet at the Museum \n\n\n\nClub Details: \n\n\n\nThe Community Rowing club meets every Thursday evening\, weather permitting\, at the Museum campus. Open to adult rowers of all ages (18-99+) and of all levels (beginner to experienced) this weekly club sets out for a recreational 1.5-to-2-hour row each week. We row the museum’s fleet of rowing gigs\, either 6-seater pilot gigs or smaller 4-oared boats. This club is a great way to exercise\, socialize\, and experience the beauty of Lake Champlain in with a relaxed group. \n\n\n\nHow to Register: \n\n\n\nReady to row? You must register for this club for the season to sign up for weekly rows. We have instituted a Pay-What-You-Can model this season for all our rowing. Rowing Club registrations pay what they feel is appropriate and affordable for them\, no matter what you pay (or if you even pay at all) you will still be registered for the entire rowing season! SUMMARY:Shipwreck Tour
DESCRIPTION:Did you know there are hundreds of historic shipwrecks in Lake Champlain? Join us for a special tour and dive into this exciting underwater history\, without getting wet!   \n\n\n\nThis scenic boat tour will take you to the sites of some famous local shipwrecks as Museum experts recount their dramatic stories. Watch underwater footage of shipwrecks from the Museum’s archaeology team and underwater Remote Operated Vehicles (ROVs)\, learn about our lake’s unique geology and history\, talk with Museum experts\, and get a first-hand look at the nature and animals that call these parts of the lake home including eagles\, fish\, and more. An incredible experience for all ages!  \n\n\n\nOn the day of your tour\, gather on the Museum green at 10:00 am and proceed to the dock at Basin Harbor as a group at 10:10 to begin the tour\, which will run from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. The walk to Basin Harbor is approximately a half-mile on pavement\, and visitors are welcome to drive if needed.
