Casting 101: a hands-on introduction to the sand casting process. Participants will experience sand casting bronze objects by doing it themselves: ramming up the mold, attaching gates and vents, lighting the furnace, and pouring the molten metal. By the end of the day they will have enough experience to be able to purchase equipment and supplies to begin working on their own.

(Ages 14+)

Please bring a lunch, water, closed toed shoes, long pants, and preferably clothing made from natural fibers. Dress warm for winter workshops! The shop will warm up over the day, but start out chilly.

Minimum Enrollment: Four (participants will be notified one week prior to the class date and refunds issued if minimum is not met) Maximum Enrollment: Five

LCMM Course & Workshop Refund and Cancellation Policy: Refunds are permitted up to one week before the class. After one week before the class, refunds and date changes will not be permitted due to registration minimums. It’s not fair to the other participants for a refund to necessitate the cancellation of a class within one week of the course. If you have questions or special circumstances, please feel free to email or call and we will do our best to accommodate.
