Lake Champlain Challenge Race

The fun begins in early July!

The Lake Champlain Challenge Race is a weekend of camaraderie, bragging rights, rowing, and plain good fun.

The big race is held on a Sunday in early July. For the exact date and details see our events calendar. Participants are encouraged to arrive on Friday or Saturday. Local accommodations include: campgrounds, Basin Harbor Club, AirBNB, B&B, etc. 

On Saturday we typically hold informal races, one from LCMM to Barn Rock Harbor (approx.. 1 mile ) and one return race.

Gather at for the informal race around 10am on Saturday. Races start at about 11:00. 

Bring picnic lunches and swimming suit to experience one of the most beautiful swimming locations in the Champlain Valley.

After the races, some rowers take LCMM boats on the lake to explore the area.

What: Lake Champlain Challenge Race
When: Early July every year.

  • Saturday: Arrival, informal races, mess-abouts and story swaps.
  • Sunday: Race Day!
    • Registration is at 9:30am. Registration is $25 (includes lunch)
    • Race Begins at 11am
