DESCRIPTION:Did you know there are hundreds of historic shipwrecks in Lake Champlain? Join us for a special tour and dive into this exciting underwater history\, without getting wet!   \n\n\n\nThis scenic boat tour will take you to the sites of some famous local shipwrecks as Museum experts recount their dramatic stories. Watch underwater footage of shipwrecks from the Museum’s archaeology team and underwater Remote Operated Vehicles (ROVs)\, learn about our lake’s unique geology and history\, talk with Museum experts\, and get a first-hand look at the nature and animals that call these parts of the lake home including eagles\, fish\, and more. An incredible experience for all ages!  \n\n\n\nOn the day of your tour\, gather on the Museum green at 10:00 am and proceed to the dock at Basin Harbor as a group at 10:10 to begin the tour\, which will run from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. The walk to Basin Harbor is approximately a half-mile on pavement\, and visitors are welcome to drive if needed. Or maybe you just really want to finally give a rowing gig a try?  \n\n\n\nJoin us for DISCOVERY DAY\, a special free hands-on day for families and adventurous souls to try just about EVERYTHING the Museum has to offer all in ONE DAY!  \n\n\n\nLearn how to row in our longboats\, try out our underwater ROV\, get a behind-the-scenes look at our exhibits and how we 3D scan artifacts\, step onto the Giant Lake Champlain Map\, practice fly fishing and other fishing skills\, talk with boat building experts\, step into the forge\, and so much more.  \n\n\n\nFly fishing casting demo will be lead by Liz Orr in collaboration with Vt Fish and Wildlife and Liz Orr’s Walk and Wade Guide Service. \n\n\n\nFood will be available for purchase with cash only from Chef Maty who will be serving Mexican cuisine\, tacos\, quesadillas\, and tamales.  \n\n\n\n\nPrograms Policy and Waiver for On-Water Activites
