SUMMARY:World Water Day
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the waters of the Lake Champlain Basin at World Water Day! Initiated by the United Nations in 1993\, World Water Day is intended to draw attention to the issues\, advocacy\, and education surrounding the world’s water resources. Here in the Champlain Valley\, partners and friends of the Champlain Basin Education Initiative come together each year to host a day for all member of the public to celebrate our watershed\, learn new skills and information about local water initiatives\, view student art\, and more.  \n\n\n\nLake Champlain Maritime Museum is honored to participate in this event and our education team will be on hand with the Giant Lake Champlain Map! In addition\, there will be scientists\, historians\, artists\, and other water experts will be on hand to share their work and answer questions. \n\n\n\nWorld Water Day Activities: \n\n\n\n DIVE IN with hands-on activities and exhibits celebrating water LEARN how to fish EXPLORE the Giant Lake Champlain Map with Lake Champlain Maritime Museum SEE fly tying demonstrations by expert Trout Unlimited anglers VIEW the gallery of student art\, media\, and writing FREE Stewart’s Shops Scoop Card to the first 100 people to get their activity passport filled \n\n\n\nWe will also be joined by guest speakers from Talking Rivers. Water-themed films and shorts will be screened throughout the event at Regal Cinemas.
