DESCRIPTION:**This program has been cancelled. Please check out our calendar for additional sailing programs** \n\n\n\nCalling all adventurous teens! Teens can join us for a one-day introductory sailing class. You’ll learn about small boat dinghy sailing in the Museum’s custom fleet of Split Rock Sailing Dinghies. Basics include how to sail a small vessel\, how to right a capsized boat\, and how to get out on the water and guide your vessel. \n\n\n\nThis is a class for beginners or anyone looking for a refresher class on how to sail. If you have sailing experience and want to take one of our dinghies out on the lake to enjoy\, check out our Weekend Sailing dates.  \n\n\n\nThe class will be held at the Museum in North Harbor. The class will have a break in the middle of the day for lunch. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout the day. Make sure to wear clothing you don’t mind getting wet and as well as adequate sun protection. The course will include practice of a capsize drill\, so expect to be in the water briefly.  \n\n\n\nDinghy Sailing for Teens is pay-what-you-can with a suggested rate of $125 for the course.   \n\n\n\nPlease note\, this event is subject to inclement weather and will be cancelled in the event of strong winds\, thunderstorms or heavy rain. DESCRIPTION:CANCELLED – Please Consider our Sept. 6 Adult Course\n\n\n\n\nDo you want to learn how to sail but never had the time or opportunity? Now is your chance! Adults ages 18 and up can join us for a one-day introductory sailing class. You’ll learn about small-boat dinghy sailing in the Museum’s custom fleet of Split Rock Sailing Dinghies. Basics include how to sail a small vessel\, how to right a capsized boat\, and how to get out on the water and guide your vessel. \n\n\n\nThis is a class for beginners or anyone looking for a refresher class on how to sail. If you have sailing experience and want to take one of our dinghies out on the lake to enjoy\, check out our Weekend Sailing dates.  \n\n\n\nThe class will be held at the Museum in North Harbor. The class will have a break in the middle of the day for lunch. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout the day. Make sure to wear clothing you don’t mind getting wet and as well as adequate sun protection. The course will include practice of a capsize drill\, so expect to be in the water briefly.  \n\n\n\nPlease note\, this event is subject to inclement weather and will be cancelled in the event of strong winds\, thunderstorms or heavy rain. Get out on the water and have some fun in custom-built sailing dinghies made in the Museum’s boat shop. Open Sailing Hours are available for anyone with prior sailing experience to enjoy. \n\n\n\nBoats are available to book in 1-hour increments for yourself or a group. Each sailing dinghy can fit two adults and one child (under 13) maximum. Participants should have previous on-water experience in a sail boat or other small watercraft and should be able to swim. Come prepared to sail\, wear attire that is okay to get wet. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or if you need special accommodation. \n\n\n\nThis is not an introduction to sailing class! Simple operating instruction will be provided and a safety boat will be present. DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCalling all adventurous teens: let’s get sailing!  \n\n\n\nThis one-day introductory sailing course is designed for teens ages 13–18 to learn the basics of small boat sailing. Over the course of the day\, participants will learn how to sail a small vessel\, how to right a capsized boat\, and how to get out on the water and guide your vessel. The class is taught with the Museum’s fleet of custom Split Rock Sailing Dinghies\, built right here in our boat shop. \n\n\n\nThe class will be held at the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum in North Harbor. In case of inclement weather\, we will contact participants immediately. Participants should wear clothes that can get wet and bring their own water and snacks. The class will run from 10 am to 4:30 pm with a break in the middle of the day for lunch. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout the day.

Join us on July 11\, 18\, and 25 at 4:30–7:30 pm for our Introduction to Sailing Class. \n\n\n\nThis class is designed for adults ages 18 and up to get an introduction to small boat sailing. Over the course of three class sessions\, you’ll learn the essentials including how to sail a small vessel\, how to right a capsized boat\, how to get out on the water\, how to sit\, and more. Class is taught with  the Museum’s fleet of custom Split Rock Sailing Dinghies\, built right here in our boat shop\, and every participant will have lots of time for professional instruction\, practice\, and fun.  \n\n\n\nThis is a class for beginners or anyone looking for a refresher class on how to sail. If you have sailing experience and want to take one of our dinghies out on the lake to enjoy\, keep an eye out for open sailing hours that will be announced soon. \n\n\n\nThe class will be held at the Museum in North Harbor.
