Don’t miss this unforgettable experience on Lake Champlain. \n\n\n\nIn every tour\, part of the ticket sales go directly to the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum to support their mission of connecting all people to Lake Champlain.  \n\n\n\nWhile sailing near the sites of iconic shipwrecks of Burlington Bay\, captain and crew will share stories of famous shipwrecks\, history of the various eras of human activity on Lake Champlain\, and current archaeology happening on the bottom of the lake. Key sites of interest will include the wreck sites of the General Butler\, the OJ Walker\, and the Burlington “Horse Ferry” wrecks\, and much more. Come prepared to share your interests and knowledge with the group! Visitors are also welcome to bring their own food and beverage along for the ride. \n\n\n\nSince this tour departs from the Burlington Waterfront\, we recommend that visitors allot additional time to find parking downtown. Join us on October 18 for the first ever Split Rock Dinghy Regatta\, a relaxed sailing event with just a little bit of competition on Lake Champlain. We’ll have several race-style events\, food\, and fun for all. SUMMARY:Introduction to Dinghy Sailing for Teens
DESCRIPTION:Calling all adventurous teens! Teens can join us for a one-day introductory sailing class. You’ll learn about small boat dinghy sailing in the Museum’s custom fleet of Split Rock Sailing Dinghies. Basics include how to sail a small vessel\, how to right a capsized boat\, and how to get out on the water and guide your vessel. \n\n\n\nThis is a class for beginners or anyone looking for a refresher class on how to sail. If you have sailing experience and want to take one of our dinghies out on the lake to enjoy\, check out our Weekend Sailing dates.  \n\n\n\nThe class will be held at the Museum in North Harbor. The class will have a break in the middle of the day for lunch. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout the day. Make sure to wear clothing you don’t mind getting wet and as well as adequate sun protection. The course will include practice of a capsize drill\, so expect to be in the water briefly.  \n\n\n\nDinghy Sailing for Teens is pay-what-you-can with a suggested rate of $125 for the course.   \n\n\n\nPlease note\, this event is subject to inclement weather and will be cancelled in the event of strong winds\, thunderstorms or heavy rain. SUMMARY:Introduction to Dinghy Sailing for Adults
DESCRIPTION:Do you want to learn how to sail but never had the time or opportunity? Now is your chance! Adults ages 18 and up can join us for a one-day introductory sailing class. You’ll learn about small-boat dinghy sailing in the Museum’s custom fleet of Split Rock Sailing Dinghies. Basics include how to sail a small vessel\, how to right a capsized boat\, how to get out on the water\, how to sit in the boat\, and more. \n\n\n\nThis is a class for beginners or anyone looking for a refresher class on how to sail. If you have sailing experience and want to take one of our dinghies out on the lake to enjoy\, check out our Weekend Sailing dates.  \n\n\n\nThe class will be held at the Museum in North Harbor. The class will have a break in the middle of the day for lunch. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout the day. Make sure to wear clothing you don’t mind getting wet and as well as adequate sun protection. The course will include practice of a capsize drill\, so expect to be in the water briefly.  \n\n\n\nIntroduction to Dinghy Sailing for Adults is pay-what-you-can with a suggested rate of $125 for the course.   \n\n\n\nPlease note\, this event is subject to inclement weather and will be cancelled in the event of strong winds\, thunderstorms or heavy rain. DESCRIPTION:CANCELLED – Please Consider our August 8 Teen Course \n\n\n\n\n\nCalling all adventurous teens! Teens can join us for a one-day introductory sailing class. You’ll learn about small-boat dinghy sailing in the Museum’s custom fleet of Split Rock Sailing Dinghies. Basics include how to sail a small vessel\, how to right a capsized boat\, and how to get out on the water and guide your vessel. \n\n\n\nThis is a class for beginners or anyone looking for a refresher class on how to sail. If you have sailing experience and want to take one of our dinghies out on the lake to enjoy\, check out our Weekend Sailing dates.  \n\n\n\nThe class will be held at the Museum in North Harbor. The class will have a break in the middle of the day for lunch. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout the day. Make sure to wear clothing you don’t mind getting wet and as well as adequate sun protection.
